How to care for sensitive, redness-prone skin
- Fewer steps. A cleanser, a soothing toner or ampoule, a cream and SPF are often enough.
- Gentle cleansing. Choose a low-pH cleanser, and avoid hot water and harsh scrubs.
- Soothing ingredients: centella (cica), heartleaf, azulene, panthenol, mugwort.
- Introduce new products one at a time and wait at least a week before adding the next.
Use acids and retinol with care: rarely, at low concentrations, and only when your skin is calm.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between sensitive and irritated skin?
Sensitive skin always reacts faster to its environment and to products, while irritation can be temporary, for example after over-exfoliating. In both cases a simpler, soothing routine helps.
Is sunscreen suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, daily sun protection matters especially for sensitive skin. Choose gentle formulas and test them on a small area of skin first.
When should I see a specialist?
If redness is constant, spreads, or comes with burning or a rash, talk to a dermatologist. Skincare helps you care for your skin but does not replace treatment.
